Music Video Analysis

The music video my group and I have chosen to do our analysis on is ' Duke Dumont ft A.M.E- 100%'.

The video is taken from various distances but mainly in a Long Shot framing . This is because the main theme of the video is to portray the loneliness of the main character, which unlike normal music videos , is not the artist himself . In fact, the music artist does not appear at all in the video, but yet still promotes his Single from the way the lyrics synthesizes with the story line. Thus, having the video framed in a Long Shot, emphasises the character's feeling by showing how he is surrounded by so many people dancing around him and that there is not a moment where he can be alone. The theme 'loneliness' is actually what the character desires.

Though majority of the scenes are taken from a Long Shot framing, there are scenes whereby  a American and a Extreme Long Shot framing was taken .Close Up shots and Extreme Close Up shots were not used in the making of the video at all. Which is probably because the main focus of the video is the music itself. The promotion of the artist and the album is seen at the end but in such a minor way that can be missed and unnoticeable .

My group member's , Lareb and Anouska have also written their Video Analysis on their respective blogs, so head on over to theirs to read what they have to say about it too !

The Show Must Go On
