Music Video Workshop 1

FIRST SHOT

For this shot, my group members and I felt that an Extreme Close Up Shot would be a more suitable framing choice as it shows best the prop (phone) that was being used in the making of this scene. Also, not only does it give the audiences some detail in the video but also shows them what the actors facial expression is ,making this whole scene very dramatic.

SECOND SHOT

The second shot was initially planned to be shot in a Long Shot framing so as to show the landscape of the scene which was a canteen. However, we changed our minds as we felt that showing the layout of the scene would defeat the purpose of this scene, which main objective was to portray the actress's saddened emotion. Thus, we chose a Close Up,Medium Shot, to show not only the facial expressions but also the body language of the actress. How she is slumped and hunched back clearly portrays how glum she is feeling.

Another example of another Close Up Shot Framing we did to, again show just a view of the upper part of the body but mainly to have a  full view focus on the face.

THIRD SHOT

This shot was taken from an American Shot framing .Which is a shot taken from the upper part of the body. We had to choose this shot as there was a lot of action going on in this scene.A tantrum was being thrown and to best show the actors movement, expression and body language , we had to choose a framing that best showed it in as much detail as possible.

FOURTH SHOT

The main aim of this shot was to show not only the background of the scene but also to the actor as the main objective. Thus we combined both a Full Shot framing and a Long Shot framing. Having filmed this on a Full Shot framing enables a direct view of the actors body in action.Combining it with a Long Shot framing also allows for the scene to have more than one focus so as to not primarily have the actor as main attraction but the scene itself ,his whereabouts, and the landscaping.

FIFTH SHOT

An Extreme Long Shot framing was taken for this scene. This was because we wanted to introduce a variety of shots for our recording and introducing an ELS frame gave a great contrasting affect as compared to the other scenes we had taken. The shot allows for a big part of the background to be apart of the recording while having the actor play a small role in comparism but yet still be effective and highly in focus as well.

Our choice of song to base our act and recording on was Taylor Swift's- You Belong With Me .
