Do they fit into a particular genre or cycle of films ?


Though both Dawn Of The Dead films are classified under the Horror genre, with media standards always evolving and improving standards from the past are bound to decrease within time. Dawn of The Dead 1978 was said to be highly gory and horrific with the age requirement of 18 said to be ''pushing it''. However the film is now criticised for being humorous and not at all thrilling or horrific, the remake of the film Dawn Of The Dead 2004 has been rated highly with fans preferring the remake to the original. In conclusion, both movies fall into the horror genre but whether or not they are 'horrific' or 'terrifying' to the audience or not is questionable. In terms of the narrative, they do certainly meet the criteria for a horror genre.
